National Center for Traditional Arts (NCFTA, 國立傳統藝術中心Guo li chuan tong yi shu zhong xin) is a famous scene in Yi-lan(宜蘭). The main missions of NCFTA is carrying forward and promoting the traditional arts in Taiwan. Visitors may see the traditional shows, buildings, handicrafts in the center.
Profile
The Center is situated by the Tungshan River(冬山河), and across from the Near Water Park(親水公園).
Black roof tiles, brown wooden railings, and red brick walls form the basis of design. Each functionally independent building appears to stand on its own, but the overall combination of trees, stones, and water produces a harmonious, coherent whole.
The village clusters consist of the Administrative Center, Exhibition Hall, Theater, Concert Hall, and Crafts
Education Center, a library, Folk Art Boulevard, Wenchang Temple, Stage, Snack Bar, and Dormitories for traditional arts students and teachers. Two valuable Yilan traditional buildings— s Guanghsiao Hall and Huang Chu-jen Residence—were also reconstructed here. The scenic experience area is bounded to the west by the banks of Tungshan River, which is channeled into the area as the inland waterway, and visitors can take a stroll as they marvel at traditional houses and wetland sights or stand atop the dikes to take in the riverside scenery.
Traffic Info
You can drive Provincial Road 2(along the coastal highway, 濱海公路Bin hai gong lu) direct to NCFTA.
From Taipei, You may drive National Highway No.5 (The Taipei-Yilan Freeway, 北宜高速公路) south. Get off the free way from Luodong Interchange and follow the direction to Provincial Road 7C (台七丙Tai qi bin) → Provincial Road 2(coastal highway, 濱海公路Bin hai gong lu) → NCTFA.
