Local information 7: Electricity
Note that while Taiwan's electricity is the same as American and Japanese electricity, there is one small difference. Most American plugs are 3-prong and most Japanese and Taiwanese plugs are 2-prong. If your computer uses a 3 prong cord (for example, USA Apple computers) then you will want a 3-prong to 2-prong adapter. If you are a buying an adapter for your European or British, you will be happier wit a 2 prong than a 3 prong.

Electricity
Electricity is supplied at 110 Volts with a frequency of 60 Hertz. Taiwan uses power plugs and sockets that are equivalent to either the Type A/NEMA 1-15/2-pin or Type B/Nema 5-15/3-pin standard, which generally means that appliances from North America, Central America, the Caribbean, and Japan can plug into Taiwan's electrical sockets.
