Abstract | |||||||||||||||||||||||
Wikipedia has won many hearty supporters in the student community, thanks to the way that it offers an easy way to access reliable and up-to-date information on various subjects. However, its critics are of the view that the lack of a strict and enforceable editorial policy detract from its credibility as a trustworthy source of academic information.
This paper will explore the use of Wikipedia in education by tertiary students through an online survey of their use of it. It will also examine the attitudes that tertiary professors and students have towards Wikipedia through in-depth interviews with both. Through these findings, this paper hopes to understand if there is a significant difference between attitudes towards Wikipedia between tertiary students and educators. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
